Freedom

Next week marks one year of being retired from the U.S. Army after 27 years of service.

This year has been a roller coaster of emotion with many highs and lows. I love this new chapter of life but it does come with some unique challenges.

My biggest lesson learned is to not get so frustrated with people. I have been accustomed to a different culture that had the same values, direct communication style, and shared values and promptness.

I've learned that I need to approach this new environment with curiosity and compassion versus frustration and judgment.

What I love most about this new chapter is my freedom, independence, and sovereignty.

Do Hard Things,

Jay
